📢You didn’t think we would stop nagging you to brush your pet’s teeth just because our dental campaign had finished, did you? We will never stop, it’s just too important a message!
😿We see the same problem on so many occasions, an older pet needing an anaesthetic and a considerable amount of teeth removed. A poor, worried family and a forlorn much-loved pet with a mouth full of painful dental decay and gum disease. Bacteria in plaque and tartar cause sore gums, smelly breath and lead to tooth loss. On entering the bloodstream it can even cause organ damage!
🦷Often these painful changes have gone unnoticed as we simply forget to ‘lift the lip’ and look in our pet’s mouth. If we get into a routine, we can spot problems in the early stages or even prevent them! ⏱️How long does it take for your pet to finish their meal? We are betting it is nowhere near the five-hour mark!
🐯In the wild cats and dogs spend a large proportion of their day tracking, hunting and ultimately catching their next snack. If we take this activity away we can be left with frustrated, bored, and even aggressive pets.
🐺We should be trying harder to meet their need to express natural behaviour, otherwise, we may be inadvertently causing all kinds of behaviour problems and overfed inactive pets leading to obesity and other health concerns!
